There are so many new outside special interest groups looking to gain access and control over the Tax Industry.  They're all looking to gain favorable congressional support that would give them a competitive advantage and allow them to impose fees which would give them access to millions in matching grant programs recently enhanced by the new Omnibus Act signed in Feb. 2009.  Much of the $787 billion dollar stimulus program will be distributed through the tax system which is the main reason so many new non profit groups are signing up to run VITA centers across the country.  Additionally these same groups are publically crusading a false propaganda campaign to destroy the reputation and image of the private business owners so they can gain public support and business when they open additional Government funded/Tax payer tax offices.  If you own a tax office, you need to join with NITPA to protect and defend the interest of your industry.

Our growing base of Enrolled Agents, CPA's, Distributors and Independent Business owners have long been working with the IRS to help standardize the industry and broaden the enforcement currently provided by ten different federal regulatory acts currently governing the industry.  NITPA's members are also lobbying for enhanced continuing education and licensing for the industry.  There needs to be standardized certified testing that can be fairly implemented for all people preparing taxes in the industry, not just a minority few. The testing should be inclusive and reflect the racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural and economic diversity of each state to reduce the potential for errors thus minimizing the required workload for the IRS.  NITPA is made up of Independent Tax Preparers from across the nation who, together share a common interest in seeing the Industry consistently enhanced.  Industry professionals who wish to see the Tax Preparer Industry Strengthened internally by Professional Tax Preparers instead of outside special interest or organizers will be meeting throughout Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and North Carolina during the coming weeks.  For information regarding the time and locations please contact a NITPA representative or email us directly.  NITPA Membership forms and other contact data can be found by clicking here.
