Join NITPA by making a contribution to the National Independent Tax Preparers Association. NITPA is the only independent tax preparer association currently lobbying to defend the industry, image and rights of independent tax office owners throughout the country. NITPA is a non-profit organization that originated in Alabama to defend the industry from a proposed Senate Bill written by a special interest group. The same special interest group who sought to destroy the business and image of private business owners with a negative propaganda crusade followed by the introduction of their own hand written legislation. Legislation which if passed would have allowed them use the licensing fees and taxes to expand their own tax operations in the state. NITPA defended the industry and prevented the bill's passage on May 14th in one of Alabama's largest political upsets as noted in the April 13, 2009 edition of Business Week and other publications.
